We have some used items in stock from Carruthers Guitars, the brand created by John Carruthers, who has developed numerous guitars and basses!
From the mid-1960s until the present, John Carruthers has been working behind the scenes, providing technology and OEM production to musicians and major musical instrument manufacturers.
He has produced numerous artist models and developed products, such as EMG pickups, the Buzzy Feiten tuning system, the Robben Ford model, and the Joe Pass model. He also produced Yamaha's SG and BB series, and in the 1970s, he was Leo Fender's right-hand man, developing the Music Man Stingray.
The model that has just arrived is based on the ST type "S6", and features a quilted maple top/alder back body and a set neck made of birdseye maple/rosewood fingerboard.
The bridge is a Wilkinson VS-100, and the pickups are Velvet Hammer Pickups (model number unknown), which are also rare in Japan, in an SSH configuration.
Controls include master volume, mid boost, and high/low pass controls.
The condition of this particular guitar is such that there are minor scratches and dents throughout, tarnish on the metal parts, rust on the pole pieces, chipped paint on the fret sides, and black stains due to lacquer fading, but there are no major scratches that would detract from its appearance.
About 60% of the frets remain, the truss rod has about half a turn left in the tightening direction, and there is some scratchiness in the controls.
This aircraft stands out in its vibrant green color. A must-see for collectors!
Hard case and arm included. Weight without back panel: Approx. 3.51kg
