We have a recommended pre-owned Fender Made in Japan CHAR MUSTANG in stock! Made in 2021.

Char, a guitarist who has had a profound influence on the history of Japanese rock music and continues to be at the forefront of the scene today, has created a new and unique Mustang guitar, this time inspired by the iconic Olympic White Mustang, a model that embodies Char's unique ideas. This model will be made in Japan, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Fender first released the Mustang in 1964. That same year, Tokyo hosted the Olympics for the first time in Japan, and Char's guitar career began right around that time. More than 50 years later, Tokyo has been selected to host the Olympics in 2020. Inspired by this, a project was launched to realize Char's vision of creating a new Mustang guitar, made in Japan, in Olympic-themed colors that would be accessible even to beginners and return to the Mustang's original "student model" concept.

The model's specifications were based on the concept of a Mustang with Stratocaster functionality. To match the Mustang's thinner body, a newly developed synchronized tremolo bridge allows for Stratocaster-style arming while maintaining the Mustang's distinctive playability and ease of handling. At Char's request, the back panel was purposely omitted, creating a simpler design. Furthermore, a three-position toggle switch allows for more intuitive pickup operation. The control knobs have been repositioned closer to the strings for a more Stratocaster-like feel, and the pickguard also features an original shape exclusive to the CHAR Mustang, unlike previous Mustang models. Regarding the sound of the new CHAR Mustang, Char himself praised the clearer sound image in the bass positions, commenting that the 5th and 6th strings "resonate better," especially.

This time, we have a recommended used item in stock! It is a 2021 model.
There are some minor scratches, scratches on the pickguard, minor dents in the paint, paint wear, stains on the back of the body, and some fading on parts, but none of these affect playability. This guitar has been fully serviced at our shop, so it's ready to play right away!

The frets have been filed and are ready to use. Approximately 85% of the frets remain.
There is no problem with using the nut, and there is no problem with normal adjustment of the truss rod.

The electrical system has been fully checked and there are no problems with operation.

It weighs 3.04 kg and is lightweight and well-balanced for easy use.
