Descripción
This time, we have an EG model from around 1979. We believe this is a shop-order model with specifications outside the catalog, equivalent to the Project Series. Although there are some parts replaced and a lot of damage, it is an example of excellent material.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.7 kg. It features a two-piece bird's eye maple top and a one-piece mahogany back. It's a two-ply body, not a pancake body. The color appears to be a violin finish exclusive to the Project Series. There are several tremolo attachment marks on the bottom of the body, paint peeling on the body top, scratches, dents, and tarnished metal parts, giving it the appearance of an old guitar. The pickguard is missing, and the control knobs have been replaced.
【neck】
All grades of EG models from this period feature a maple neck, but the neck is constructed of three pieces of mahogany. The fingerboard appears to be made of ebony. The back of the neck has two large dents on the side near the fifth fret, as well as other minor scratches. There are signs of a previous tuner, but Grover 102 tuners are currently installed. The frets show some wear, including minor dents, especially on the low frets. The nut was replaced at our shop and plays well. The nut width is approximately 44.1mm. The neck is relatively sturdy, but not too thick, providing a comfortable grip.
[Electrical system]
The controls are simple: two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector switch. The pickups have been replaced with Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 and SH-6 Duncan Distortion pickups. Taking advantage of the excellent materials, the neck (front) position produces a thick, lustrous sound, while the bridge (rear) position produces a powerful, dense sound. All pots have been replaced.
