A new RG j.custom model packed with meticulously crafted specifications for technical players!

The concept of j.custom is very simple.
"Using carefully selected materials and assembled by some of Japan's most skilled craftsmen, these guitars consistently pursue high playability and superior sound." This philosophy has remained unchanged since the guitar's inception and continues to this day.
Based on this concept, the j.custom is Ibanez's top-of-the-line electric guitar, handcrafted in a domestic workshop to meet the diverse styles, preferences, and demands of guitarists at the highest level.


■RG j.custom Super Wizard AS (Asymmetric) Neck Shape: This neck is constructed from 5 pieces of maple and wenge wood, with careful consideration given to strength while aiming for a natural sound.
This guitar features an asymmetrical neck shape based on the ultra-thin Super Wizard shape, designed for ease of playing and minimal thickness.
While maintaining the same neck thickness of 17mm at the nut and 19mm at the 12th fret, the neck has been given a more rounded shape towards the bass string side (6th string side), providing a more secure pivot point for the thumb and improving playability for technical techniques such as wide stretches and sweep picking.
The neck back features a Velvetouch finish that feels incredibly comfortable in your hand, just like a guitar that's been played for years.

■Makassar Ebony Fingerboard This special fingerboard is made of Makassar ebony, which is hard and highly responsive, and is also characterized by its vertical striped grain. The Tree of Life position inlay, one of the symbols of j.custom designs, stands out beautifully against it.

■j.custom fret edge treatment
This is a custom treatment that rounds the edges to create a spherical shape.
Shaping them into a sphere, as well as ensuring consistent shapes, requires skill, and this process, which can only be performed by highly skilled craftsmen, is carried out meticulously by hand, one piece at a time.
You'll definitely notice the smooth, stress-free feeling when you make large changes to the position of your left hand.

■Flame Maple (4mm) Top & Alder Body: The alder wood, known for its balanced, bright tone and rich sustain, is laminated with AAA-grade flame maple wood, which boasts a beautiful grain.

■Deep and beveled lower horn scoop
The body back and the cutaway on the treble string side (first string side) are deeply scooped to improve playability in the higher positions.

■Chambered body
To better meet the needs of players who want to make their guitars lighter without compromising the acoustic properties of the wood, we drilled several holes about 3 cm in diameter on the front of the body.
It's only a small change, but it certainly contributes to weight reduction.

■DiMarzio Pickups
It features the PAF7 pickup, which is an adaptation of DiMarzio's classic PAF pickup for 7-string guitars.
These pickups are reminiscent of classic humbuckers from the late 1950s, offering a clear, low-power sound characterized by mild highs, clear lows, and an open, warm tone.

■ Coil-tap switch: Functions with both front and rear humbucker pickups, expanding the range of sound variations.

■Lo-Pro Edge tremolo bridge: Equipped with the Lo-Pro Edge, an original tremolo that perfects low-profile design.
By designing the unit to be as low as possible and positioning the fine tuner at the rear, the possibility of accidentally hitting it and throwing the tuning out of whack while playing is minimized.

■Gotoh machine heads
GOTOH machine heads are highly regarded by guitarists worldwide for their smooth operation, reliability, and durability.

■Tilted Jack Cavity
Unlike typical side-jack guitars, the woodworking around the jack where the shield cable plug is inserted is carved outwards from the strap pin direction towards the inside of the body. This is a design feature that allows the cable to be secured to the strap and prevents it from accidentally coming loose.

■Switchcraft Jack
It uses Switchcraft pipe jacks, which are renowned for their robust construction and minimal tangles.

■GOTOH Strap Lock
It is equipped with a GOTOH strap lock that can be attached and detached with a single touch.

■Easy Access Control Knobs
To minimize interference with your hand when using the tremolo arm, the control knobs are recessed into the top of the body, at a height that is just low enough to be easily turned without being difficult to access.
