AKIMA & NEOS is a handmade effects pedal brand created by Akima Tsuneo of "Marcosias Bump," a band that gained popularity with its glam rock-based sound. As a player himself, Akima has cultivated experience and incorporated the voices of musicians in the field into his unique perspective, resulting in items that are in high demand among professional musicians, demonstrating their high quality.

This unit is the "King Rocker Bass II Plus," based on the "King Rocker Bass II," and equipped with a "Plus" footswitch that allows you to turn "Bite" and "Level" on and off. It's a bass drive pedal that delivers a natural and fat distortion reminiscent of a distorted tube amplifier. The controls consist of three knobs (Mist, Bite, Level) and a master volume. Mist adjusts the boost gain for the mid-low frequencies, Bite adjusts the boost gain for the mid-high frequencies, Level adjusts the volume of Bite, and Master adjusts the final output. Its tube-like distortion is incredibly satisfying, and the thick, punchy distortion creates an overwhelming presence. Furthermore, the addition of a footswitch allows you to turn the distortion on and off while maintaining the thickness of the mid-low frequencies.

The King Rocker Bass series is an effects pedal that delivers a unique crunch that is neither distortion nor overdrive.
While this device is categorized as a drive pedal, its unique circuit design has earned it a reputation not only as a source of distortion, but also as a pre-amp that can control the bass sound to match the tone of the music.
Tone is determined by the balance between high and low frequencies.
In the control section of the King Rocker Bass series, Bite (high frequencies) adds the quality harmonics essential for distortion, while Mist (low frequencies) controls the attack and low end.
Depending on these settings, you can enjoy playing with the optimal sound anytime, anywhere, from amp-like drive sounds that maintain their role as a rhythm section even when heavily distorted, to clean sounds that create pleasant basslines with rich tone while evening out volume variations across strings and positions.

Distorting the bass means increasing the high-frequency harmonic components. This means that the low frequencies will sound less prominent, so you need to compensate for the increased harmonics by adding bass. The Mist control plays the role of creating a clean low with a strong attack that allows the bassline to be heard clearly without getting muddy, without interfering with the high-frequency harmonics that are essential for a powerful drive sound.
The Mist controller featured in the King Rocker Bass series was originally intended as a correction function for the drive sound described above. However, this control alone can be used as a high-quality discrete circuit booster that creates a clear bassline with a "visible bassline" while suppressing unwanted frequencies such as buzz tones. Responding to requests from players who use this Mist alone as a clean booster for bass without distorting the bass, or who use two units with different settings, the King Rocker Bass II Plus now allows the Mist section to be used completely independently via a switch.
When you turn the ON/OFF switch on this model, it operates as a clean bass booster using only the Mist section, and then when you turn the Plus switch on, all the controls become functional, allowing you to switch back to the traditional King Rocker Bass II.
*The Master (Volume) controller will function in both modes.

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
