Description
This model, which combines the portability and ease of playability of the headless style—the greatest advantage of the headless style—with a proven track record and has become a new standard bass—is now available at a great used price. The headless bass, which has long been considered "no sound" and "difficult to use," was reexamined by the venerable Ibanez brand, and this model, the "EHB," was born through ingenuity and a complete overhaul. It has already found its way into the hands of many bassists and is steadily gaining recognition. This model also features fanned frets, which are even more popular.
This instrument, crafted by reconstructing the ergonomic EHB body design to provide a perfectly balanced fit for the player whether standing or seated, showcases the meticulous design details. The horn is shaped to balance the body and neck when playing standing up and be comfortable to hold, while the curve of the body on the treble side is designed for a comfortable fit and balance, especially when playing seated. The body surface is contoured to create a slope where the elbow rests. All body edges that come into contact with the body are smoothly rounded, ensuring a playability that is comparable to a conventional bass, even when playing standing up. The underside of the body is boldly cut out, tapering toward the bass strings. This enhances the fit when playing seated and takes into account the viewing angle of the fingerboard inlays. Additionally, the underside of the horn on the treble side is scooped to facilitate easy access to the high frets.
This model features a chambered body that enhances the body's resonance, allowing players to feel the vibrations directly inside the body, much like a hollow body, allowing them to better understand the sound they're producing. It also contributes to a slight weight reduction. This model delivers the distinct fundamental sound and tonal balance characteristic of headless basses, while also offering rich overtones and a mellow tone. Equipped with Nordstrand/Big Split custom pickups, a renowned bass pickup brand, and a Vari Mid 3-Band EQ with EQ bypass switch preamp, it offers versatile sound shaping. In addition to the standard 3-band EQ, the bass guitar features a mid-focused frequency knob, creating versatile tones that are suited to a variety of styles and genres.
This guitar was manufactured in 2024. While there is a dent in the neck heel, there is no noticeable damage to the playing area and it remains in excellent condition. The neck, truss rod clearance, and remaining frets are all in excellent playing condition, so don't miss out on this great used bargain on a popular model.
