Brazilian handmade bass "S.Martyn"
Models exhibited at the 2026 NAMM SHOW are now in stock!

S.Martyn Custom Basses are high-quality handmade basses made by luthier Samuel Martins in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
As is typical of a South American manufacturer, the Blaze model uses a large amount of locally sourced tonewoods, and its headless, compact design makes it extremely lightweight and well-balanced, making it one of the brand's signature models.

This manufacturer specializes in short scale 30-inch and 32-inch instruments, even for 5- and 6-string guitars with a low B, and this instrument uses a medium 32-inch scale. The light, dry sound that is unique to this manufacturer, the softness of the strings that comes from the short scale, and the narrow string pitch make chord work very appealing, but the sense of firm control of each string in your hand can be a bit difficult to achieve with a typical instrument of 34 inches or more.

The weight balance is excellent, and the compact size makes it easy to store and transport in a guitar case with a little room to spare. (It comes with an original S.Martyn compact soft case.)

There are many handmade bass guitars around the world made by independent makers, but not many manufacturers design their own electronics, such as pickups and preamps, which determine the individuality of each manufacturer's sound. While you can switch to passive mode by pulling the volume knob, we generally recommend using it in active mode with the preamp set to a high gain. The EQ is easy to use, so it's a good idea to actively use it to shape your sound.

Although this manufacturer has not yet had many shipments to Japan, I believe it is already a well-known name among bass enthusiasts.
This time we have secured the models exhibited at the NAMM Show!
If you haven't had the chance to try out the actual machine until now, be sure to come and experience its charm!
