Description

"Items exhibited at the Ikebukuro Used Goods Festival"
During the event, our products will be on display and for sale on the first floor of Ikebukuro.

Since its release in 1960, the Jazz Bass has been a flagship model for Fender, alongside the Precision Bass, and continues to influence the music scene. Numerous variations and reissue models have been produced by the original manufacturer, as well as inspired models by it from other companies, solidifying its position as a standard model for electric basses.

This particular guitar, manufactured in 1974, has been modified to an active configuration with a Bartolini preamplifier.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 4.5kg. The body is made of alder. The Olympic White color, with its impressive fading and weather checking, is eye-catching. There is weather checking, paint peeling, dents and scratches, and tarnishing of the metal parts, as is appropriate for its age, resulting in a well-maintained and atmospheric condition. The bridge unit and control knobs have been replaced. There is weather checking, paint peeling around the finger rest and elbow contour, scratches from a belt buckle on the back of the body, and tarnishing of the parts, as is appropriate for its age, giving it a wonderful vintage instrument feel. The bridge has been replaced with the familiar Leo Quan "Badass Bass II". Due to the change to a 4-control knob configuration, the output jack has been moved to the side of the body, and the 9V battery box is installed on the back of the body. Other screws have also been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of one piece of maple. A crack in the wood near the nut caused by a loose truss rod has been repaired along with the reinstallation of the truss rod, and the 1st fret position marker has been replaced accordingly. Overall, there is weather checking, age-related discoloration on the headstock top, crisp paint peeling on the back of the neck typical of this period, and dents, giving it a very atmospheric condition, similar to the body. The tuners have been replaced with GOTOH GB640s by our shop. The frets have been leveled and adjusted by our shop, and the playability is good. The fingerboard surface has been repainted following the refretting. Headstock thickness is 14.1mm. Nut width is 38.3mm. It features a relatively solid neck shape.

[Electrical System]
The controls are a 4-knob configuration with 2 volume and 2 preamp controls (bass/treble). The pickups have been replaced with Fender's "Vintage '66 Jazz Bass Set". The preamp is a Bartolini "TBT" preamp. The potentiometers, capacitors, and output jack have also been replaced. Combining the classic materials of an alder body and a one-piece maple neck with pickups that have a tight, focused low end, it outputs a vintage-like tone with a clear definition. Furthermore, the inclusion of the Bartolini TBT preamp gives it a vintage feel and the freedom of sound shaping that comes with an active bass, making it a practical and expressive instrument.
