Description

This is a special model created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of Prima Gakki, Yanagisawa's main distributor.

The curved neck and body are integrated into one piece, resulting in a soprano instrument that offers natural breath flow, just the right amount of resistance, a uniquely soft tone, and smooth sound transitions.

The instrument also features a peacock-themed engraving by MAJZIK ROBERT, an engraving artist based in Japan and Hungary, making it a truly unique saxophone.

Comes with high G key.

[Comment from Prima Gakki]

Our company was founded in 1945 in Akabane, Tokyo as a privately run wholesaler of musical instruments and sheet music. A few years later, we established Ohashi Jiro Shoten Co., Ltd. in our current location in Higashi-Nihonbashi, and first focused on popularizing musical instruments for educational use. In the 1950s, we began handling flutes made by Koichi Muramatsu, the first flute maker in Japan (sold as "Prima Flutes" until the 1960s), and ocarinas made by Takashi Aketagawa, known as the father of the Japanese ocarina (initially sold as "Prima Ocarinas," now "Aketa Ocarinas"). We particularly focused on supporting the production of woodwind instruments, and began active promotional activities.

It was around this time that we began our relationship with Yanagisawa Wind Instruments, founded by Takanobu Yanagisawa and Katsuji Sakano. Since the launch of the first tenor saxophone (T-3) developed by Yanagisawa Wind Instruments in 1954, our company and Yanagisawa Wind Instruments have progressed together, and Yanagisawa Wind Instruments' saxophones have long been one of our main products (initially known as "Prima Saxophones," and now known as "Prima Yanagisawa Saxophones").

The Prima Yanagisawa Saxophones, commemorating our 80th anniversary, are the "Pride of the Peacock" soprano and alto models. They incorporate various ideas gleaned from our extensive collaborations with many people, and were carefully tested to create instruments that are flexible enough to meet the demands of players across genres, offering a rich sound, a comfortable playing feel, and excellent playability. Furthermore, the Hungarian-born sculptor Robert Majdzieke has created a magnificent sculpture of the proud figure of a peacock, a bird said to symbolize peace, harmony, and hope.

In addition to the WO series, which is Prima Yanagisawa Saxophone's current lineup, we hope you will also enjoy "Peacock's Pride," our other ideal model that further deepens and modernizes the world of sound that we have been weaving for 80 years.
