FAQ

Description
Talisman Ghost expands on the original Talisman pedal by modulating and simulating two EMT140 plates, adding a chorus-like effect to the reverb trail.

At Catalinbread, we strive to create devices that accurately model vintage gear, but reimagining old technology means pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Sometimes we dramatically increase the decay of a spring reverb to simulate springs much larger than those found in amplifiers, or sound like a room reverb if the room were infinite square feet. In the plate reverb realm, the Talisman pushes the sonic boundaries of the already authentic EMT 140. With this pedal, we've expanded the thrust of the EMT 140—a giant metal plate suspended from a frame by springs and clamps—and added some tasteful embellishments designed to create control where there previously was none.

TalismanGhost steps out of the box and answers the question, "What happens when you configure two EMT140 plate units to work in modulated tandem?" The result is a captivating chorus-like effect that applies only to the reverb trail. This ground-up reimagined sound is enhanced by careful consideration of the diffusion characteristics of an actual EMT 140, and an added luxury most studios lack: a second 600-pound behemoth running in parallel.

This tasteful modulation results in the two plates blending together in a satisfying way, dramatically widening the spatial impact of the reverb - a clever post-processing doubling effect that adds a sense of dynamics to an otherwise static reverb decay.

Power supply: 9V to 18VDC (center negative).
Current consumption: 100mA

Controls: VOL, MIX, TONE, TIME, PRE DELAY Output Impedance: 90k
Controls: Master, Pre-Amp, Treble, Middle, Bass, SL/SB, Presence
