★Successor to the highly popular mobile audio interface for guitar
What happens when you take something that has the revolutionary power to completely change the way you see the world and make it even better? iRig 2 is the answer.
In 2010, the original iRig enabled guitarists and bassists to connect their guitar or bass to an iPhone and use a number of music apps, including IK AmpliTube and Apple GarageBand, to play, practice, and record whenever and wherever they wanted.
iRig 2 is the successor to iRig, the most popular mobile audio interface for guitar on the market. While maintaining its ease of use, it packs a lot of functionality into a compact body, including new features such as an input gain adjustment dial and a standard 1/4-inch output jack for connecting to an amplifier.
Whether you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or most Macs released between 2008 and 2013, iRig 2, the latest evolution of the classic mobile audio interface, lets you connect your guitar or bass to your mobile device.
If you loved the original iRig, you'll love iRig 2. It's plug-and-play compatible with a wide range of devices. iRig 2 features a new input gain adjustment dial, making it truly plug-and-play compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and most Macs released between 2008 and 2013.
The newly equipped input gain adjustment dial allows you to adjust the gain to suit the different input levels for each device and the type of guitar or bass pickup, such as active, humbucker, single coil, or piezo, making it easy to find the point where noise and feedback are minimized.
The 1/4-inch input jack is compatible with not only high-impedance guitars and basses, but also line-level instruments such as electric pianos and organs. Simply connect it using the same cable (standard 1/4-inch cable) you normally use to connect to your amplifier or effects unit. It's that easy!
●Functions packed into a compact body
Thinking of using iRig 2 on stage? In addition to the stereo mini jack for headphone output that iRig also has, iRig 2 now has a new output jack for standard 1/4 inch plugs, so you can connect directly to your guitar amp without the need for an extra adapter.
With the addition of this amplifier output jack, AmpliTube for iOS, IK's guitar and bass effects and amp modeling app, can now be used even more effectively, from practice to live performances. AmpliTube offers a vast library of carefully modeled vintage stomp effects and amps. You can use this virtual modeling gear on stage alongside your existing stomp effects and amps. Of course, you can also use it for practice by connecting headphones to the 1/8-inch headphone jack.
iRig 2 also features a new FX/THRU switch, allowing you to switch between the AmpliTube effect sound and the bypass sound. For example, you can use your mobile device as a tuner or recorder, while processing the effects with a physically connected stomp effect or amplifier.
It also features a removable slot that allows you to attach it to an iRig 2 mic stand using the included Velcro, making it easy to use on stage. Combine it with the iKlip Xpand or iKlip Xpand Mini, which are compatible with a wide range of smartphones and tablets, and you're invincible.
●Realistic reproduction of guitar and bass sounds
iRig 2 comes with a free version of the IK AmpliTube series, the #1 popular guitar effects and amp modeling app for a wide range of platforms, including AmpliTube for iOS and AmpliTube for Mac/PC. You can start using it right out of the box after purchase.
If you're using an iOS device, simply download AmpliTube FREE from the App Store, plug your guitar or bass into iRig 2, connect headphones or an amplifier to the iRig 2 output, and start playing right away.
Regardless of the model you're using, the AmpliTube app displays familiar guitar/bass equipment, including amps and stomp effects. A navigation bar at the top of the screen lets you see the entire audio signal flow of your guitar/bass. Additionally, the app offers a variety of features, including multi-track recording and editing, a high-resolution tuner, and a convenient metronome for practice.
It goes without saying that AmpliTube is the best partner for iRig 2, but you can also use iRig 2 as an audio input device for any recording or music app, such as Apple GarageBand.
