FAQ

Description

The Musicmaster, a single-pickup model, debuted in 1956 alongside the popular two-pickup Duo Sonic, a popular Fender student guitar. Its compact body incorporates original parts that rival those of the regular model, and it is now highly regarded by vintage guitar enthusiasts for its quality and sound, going beyond mere entry-level models.

The guitar we have in stock this time is a guitar produced under the name "Musicmaster II" around 1966. In recent years, the availability of highly original guitars has decreased significantly, making it difficult to find one in good condition on the market.

【body】
It weighs approximately 3.0 kg. Its striking blue color (lacquer finish), which was also used on the Mustang of the same period, is a major attraction. Its subtle fading and the fact that it has retained its vibrant original color are particularly noteworthy. While it shows signs of vintage wear, such as weather checking, burn marks from the curled cord, dents and scratches, and dull metal parts, it is in excellent condition considering its nearly 60 years of age.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is some weather checking, especially on the back of the headstock, slight fading of the decals, and paint chipping and small dents on the back of the neck, but like the body, it is in fairly good condition. The tuners feel a little stiff, but they operate reliably and are of no practical use. There is some wear on the frets and nut, but playability is good. The headstock is 15.7mm thick. The nut width is 37.2mm. Despite its small 22-1/2-inch scale length and narrow pitch, the neck shape itself is surprisingly solid, providing a sense of security when picked up.

[Electrical system]
The controls are simple, with one volume and one tone, as with the original. The pickups and wiring are in excellent condition, remaining in their original original condition. The sound, while retaining the roughness inherent in a short scale, is impressively well-seasoned and vintage. The bass is tight and well-defined, while the mids and highs have the dry, crisp character of a '60s Fender. Clean notes are light and straightforward, while driven notes reveal a rough, tasteful character. This character is recommended not only for blues, garage, indie, and alternative, but also for players seeking a unique tone for recording.
