Description
The Compact Two Face has the same basic performance as the original "Two Face," but with the jacks positioned on the top, it's a space-saving design and a pedalboard-friendly version.

There are two versions of the Fuzz Face circuit. The early models from 1966-1969 used germanium transistors, while models from 1970 onwards employed silicon transistors, which are more resistant to temperature changes. There's endless debate about which sound is superior, so I thought, "What if I packed both circuits into one pedal and made it switchable?" Essentially, you get two pedals in one. Germanium produces a warm, thick, and dark tone. Silicon produces a bright tone that some might find a little sharp (rough), but you can switch between both sounds with a single switch. Germanium was prone to bias fluctuations due to temperature changes, but I addressed this by adding a bias control on the top panel. You can fine-tune the tone to the optimal level at any time, or even deliberately lower the bias to create a unique, crazy oscillating sound like a motorboat. All of this can be controlled from the top panel. The silicon circuit's bias is fixed at 4.5V internally and does not require adjustment (it operates very stably).
Inside the pedal, there's an "input control" knob. By default, it's turned all the way to the right, but turning it to the left slightly reduces the overall gain, making the sound brighter and improving its compatibility with wah pedals. Sometimes, slightly reducing the gain can add more body to the tone, but experimenting to find your preferred sound is part of the fun.
Finally, please note that this is based on a 50-year-old fuzz circuit. Especially with the fuzz set to maximum in the 70s style, noise and distortion may occur. Lowering the fuzz setting slightly will eliminate these issues. If you want a rocket-like blast of sound but can tolerate a slight "buzzing" noise that doesn't bother you while playing, then leave it as is. In any case, the most important thing is not to stop playing! Furthermore, this pedal responds surprisingly faithfully to the guitar's volume and picking dynamics. That's the pedal's greatest appeal. By actively controlling the guitar's volume, you can create a truly diverse range of dynamic sounds.
