The Custom Classic Jazz Bass inherits the vintage tradition of the Fender Custom Shop while matching the more modern music scene and style.
This particular guitar, manufactured in 2007, features an ash body, quarter-sawn maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It's equipped with a noiseless pickup and active circuit, and features updated specifications to meet today's diverse needs. It features a boldly cut contour design for enhanced playability, a heel cut at the joint, and a steel bridge plate that can be used with either a front or back through.
The controls are M.Vol (Push/Pull), Balancer, Bass/Treble Boost, and M.Tone. The preamp has been replaced with a Nordstrand 2BandEQ "2B+ Preamps" that features Bass/Treble Boost, including the pots, for a thicker, more solid sound with a crisper tone. The pickups are probably Noiseless GEN4 pickups. The overall sound is well-balanced, giving it presence in a band ensemble without being too forward, making it an all-purpose instrument.
There are some small scratches and dents on the head, body, and side of the fingerboard, but it can be used without any problems when playing.
Approximately 70% of the frets remain, but they have been filed down and other maintenance has been performed, so the current setting (approximately 2mm to 1.3mm) allows for use without any clogging.
