FAQ

Description

A great sounding 90's Sadowsky with EMG pickups!

In the early 1980s, while repairing and modifying instruments for New York's leading musicians, Roger Sadowsky developed the so-called Active JB style, featuring a preamp built into the bass itself, and proposed new possibilities for bass sound. The "Sadowsky style" influenced not only players but also manufacturers, and spawned many followers. Even now, more than 30 years after its creation, it continues to be updated to meet the needs of the times.

This instrument, manufactured in 1996, retains the form and playability of the JB type, but features a 2-octave (24 frets) neck and a "5-24" style with EMG soapbar pickups.
The period-correct EMG pickups are dual-coil, but only one side is set to a single coil, making them a custom 40J. They're custom-tuned to match the Sadowsky preamp.

With a solid, lightweight ash body weighing just under 3.7 kg and a maple neck and fingerboard, this is an orthodox model that best embodies Sadowsky's signature style. With a wide range and clear low B tone, this is a guitar that will allow you to experience the charm of the company's 1990s sound.

The lacquer finish on the neck and fingerboard has developed many fine vertical cracks due to aging, and there is some darkening in the cracks and in areas where the lacquer has been worn away from the sides of the fingerboard. The color has faded quite a bit, but the neck currently has a smooth, silky feel, and there are no dents that would be noticeable when playing. The body also has some light dents and scratches overall, but no major paint chips or severe damage, and the overall condition is quite good.

There is no noticeable wear on the frets, the neck is in good condition, the truss rod works well, and the electrical system and hardware all function without any problems.

Although it is a NYC product, we have priced it at a very reasonable price compared to used items available in recent years.
If you're looking for a lightweight, high-quality active 5-string guitar, be sure to check this out!
