Ibanez Prestige AZ Model

The AZ series, a new generation of 7-string guitars, is the standard model for the next generation of guitarists.


◆AZ7 Oval C Neck Grip
The existing AZ series 6-string models feature an original neck shape perfected after measuring and analyzing the neck grips of dozens of guitars, both from our own manufacturer and other companies. The neck is shaped to gently curve from the point where the fretboard meets the neck to the edge of the fretboard, creating a comfortable grip with rounded edges. This shape is accurately and reliably reproduced using ball milling.
The AZ-7 model retains the same neck thickness as the 6-string model, providing the smooth grip feel common to the AZ series.
The neck width is set to 47mm at the nut and 66mm at the last fret.

◆Seymour Duncan Hyperion-7 Pickups
Hyperion is a pickup created in collaboration with Seymour Duncan, a pickup brand synonymous with a long history and a commitment to continuous innovation, and is exclusively for the AZ series. It is a custom pickup that focuses on picking responsiveness and accuracy, with a slightly reduced output to retain some of the original clean tone even when distorted.
It features a newly developed Hyperion pickup for 7-string guitars. We prioritized overall balance, from the low frequencies approached by the 7th string to the high frequencies spun by the 1st string, while also pursuing excellent effect compatibility.

◆Gotoh T1872S tremolo bridgeGotoh T1872S tremolo bridge
It features the T1872S tremolo bridge, a newly adapted version of the T1802 tremolo bridge, which was created in collaboration with Ibanez and Gotoh specifically for the AZ series, and is designed for 7-string guitars.
The string spacing is a narrow 10.5mm, just like the 6-string model, providing the ease of picking across strings that players who frequently use skipping and hybrid picking demand.
Featuring a hard, machined titanium saddle and machined steel inertia block, this guitar achieves both excellent attack and a solid, fat sound, resulting in extended high frequencies.
Furthermore, it features an arm socket that allows the use of Ibanez Edge tremolo arms and ultra-light tremolo arms (carbon fiber/UTA20/sold separately). Unlike conventional arms that require twisting, the arm can be attached with a snap-in mechanism. The torque of the tremolo arm can be easily adjusted by rotating the torque cap on the arm mounting part. In addition, it comes standard with a stud lock mechanism that firmly secures the studs with set screws embedded in them, greatly contributing to tuning stability and resonance. It employs a two-point floating support system that allows for smooth arming and arm-up, and four tremolo springs are used to achieve an appropriate tension.

◆Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads
To enhance the convenience of string changes, we've adopted Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads, which are renowned for their tuning stability. The design allows you to easily lock the strings through the post holes by simply turning a dial with your finger.

◆The spring-muting rubber
To suppress the spring resonance that often occurs in synchronized tremolo guitars, a rubber spring mute is installed.

◆Graph Tech BLACK TUSQ XL nut
It features a Graph Tech nut, which boasts smooth tuning stability. It achieves both a clear sound and excellent sustain.

◆Alter switch for dyna-MIX wiring
With a single flick of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, ensuring a wide variety of sound options.
This switching system is ideal for modern guitar players who need to perform multiple roles with limited equipment.
●Alter switch
SSH model… The neck and center single-coil pickups are wired in series to simulate the sound of a 24-fret neck humbucker.
HH model…Switches to Power Tap mode, which delivers a realistic single-coil sound. One coil is tapped, and the other coil's low frequencies are enhanced with special wiring, resulting in a clear high-frequency range and a thick, well-defined sound that cannot be achieved with simple tapping.

◆Luminlay side dot inlay
These 3.0mm diameter phosphorescent dot position markers offer high visibility, adapting to the rapidly changing performance environment due to lighting and other factors. You'll never lose sight of the notes you want to play, even on a dark stage.
