Description
AIRD preamp for realistic tube amp sound and response
The GX-100 features AIRD amp technology inherited from the flagship GT-1000 model. Experience dynamic tube amp sound and exceptional response. Choose from 23 carefully selected amp types, including bass models. Choose from a wide range of character, from classic styles to original BOSS models. Load external IR data using the dedicated app to further expand your sound creation possibilities.
High-Quality Effects: Over 150 premium BOSS effects are included, inherited from the flagship GT-1000. From classic overdrives and distortions to more aggressive sound-shaping effects like ring modulators, the GX-1000 offers a wide range of effects. It also features effects utilizing the algorithms of the X Series, the pinnacle of digital compact pedals, as well as effects designed specifically for bass. Reverb and delay support carryover, allowing you to retain reverberation even when turned off. Natural sound transitions are achieved when switching memories. The SEND/RETURN jacks also allow you to connect your favorite effect pedals or even an amplifier via the 4-cable connection method. Save your GX-100 sounds as memories and instantly recall them for performance.
Highly flexible sound creation
The GX-100 offers numerous ready-to-use memories, but it's also easy to create sounds from scratch. Up to 15 effect blocks can be used simultaneously, and effects can be assigned easily and freely by dragging them. Up to two preamps can be used simultaneously, allowing for detailed sound creation, such as connecting different types in parallel using a divider and mixing the tones to your desired balance using a mixer. Up to 200 custom settings can be saved internally.
Smooth and streamlined operation
The GX-100's interface is designed with a streamlined interface. The highly visible color display supports touch operation, and combined with the four knobs located below the display, it allows for smooth operation. Operations requiring large movements, such as adding effect blocks or changing the connection order on the routing screen, can be performed by dragging the display, while fine-tuning each effect's parameters can be performed using the four knobs. Flexible operation tailored to the task at hand ensures comfortable editing.
Highly Flexible Control Functions: Tone control is provided through MEMORY mode, which switches between pre-created memories, and MANUAL mode, which turns effects on and off individually. The eight footswitches can also be used to individually control set parameters. A Current Number function allows you to activate a desired function by pressing the footswitch of a selected memory again. For example, you can switch from backing to lead and then turn on the delay by pressing the same footswitch again. The expression pedal also offers a convenient function: turning on the tuner when the volume is turned all the way down. Comprehensive control is possible with just the GX-100. An external expansion jack is also provided, allowing you to add an expression pedal and use it as both a volume pedal and a pedal effect, or to send an amp channel switching signal from the GX-100. MIDI control is also supported, allowing you to use the GX-100 as a control center for a variety of devices.
Useful features
The GX-100 is a versatile multi-effects unit. Its USB audio interface functionality lets you record to your DAW, while the headphone jack lets you practice at home. By adding a looper to the effects block, you can not only create solo performances but also create sounds by looping phrases.
Dedicated app "BOSS TONE STUDIO"
The GX-100's dedicated BOSS TONE STUDIO app (Windows/Mac) lets you create sounds on your PC and use the librarian function to back up, manage, and swap memories. Installing the optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter (BT-DUAL) lets you wirelessly use BOSS TONE STUDIO (iOS/Android) from your smartphone or tablet, and even play audio via Bluetooth.
