Description
A new tenor cutaway model called "Sumerian" has arrived, made by the unique Toda Shinji!
This tenor-sized instrument features a koa top, straight-grained Madagascar rosewood back and sides, and a cutaway design. It's a hybrid of Toda's popular "Alien" model and the standard tenor "VT" model. Ikebe's ukulele specialist saw and played this amazing model at the Handcrafted Guitar Festival and immediately requested an order.
The model name is a combination of the Sumerians, a race said to have had an advanced culture in ancient times, and Alien. The sound hole shape is a mix of the VT's round shape and the Alien's little gray shape, and the shape is based on the Alien, incorporating the atmosphere of the VT ukulele shape.
The Sumerians were apparently particularly knowledgeable in astronomy, and the concept of this ukulele is steeped in the romantic story of an encounter between humans and aliens.
The neck is made of Honduras mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge pegs are Goto SGI510-FS5-CK.
Madagascar rosewood and Hawaiian koa create a wide range of deep sound!
