After about a year and a half of creating numerous prototypes and spending a considerable amount of time testing with John Shanks, the SHANKS ODS-1 was finally completed!

VEMURAM finally announced the "SHANKS ODS-1" at the 2019 NAMM venue, the fourth signature pedal from John Shanks, a renowned producer and guitarist who is arguably the most knowledgeable about usable sounds.

Up until now, the VEMURAM Shanks series has focused on fuzz tones, but the new ODS-1 delivers a truly exquisite overdrive sound! The moment I plugged it in, I was shocked by the sound.
The core character of the sound is a drive tone with controllable gain reminiscent of a vintage overdrive stomp, without giving it a forced or peaky character.The brass case, which is the true essence of VEMURAM, gives it a firm, musical mid-end, and the selection of parts such as orange drops used in the sound line perfectly captures the range and character that guitarists desire.

Also worth mentioning is the effectiveness of the SAT and Bass trim located on the top.
The Bass Trim in particular directly affects the low frequencies that guitarists want to hear in an ensemble, even lower than the frequency range where a typical drive tone tends to bloat, and since it barely impairs the drive character, it's extremely effective for your own monitoring and for complementing the frequency range in an ensemble!By complementing the low frequencies while maintaining a glassy tone, players can create drive sounds with a clear presence that are easy to play and suitable for a variety of situations.

The SAT control, based on the know-how cultivated with the well-known Jan Ray, adds color by controlling the saturation of the drive tone character, giving it a sparkling, tube-like feel, creating a richer, more lush drive character. Of course, it goes without saying that it is a great match for tube amps.
