Description
This pre-owned 1960s J-45 ADJ Ebony, manufactured in 2016, features practical modifications and is a popular ebony color used by Japanese guitarists Kazuyoshi Saito and Motoo Fujiwara.
Although this is a popular color that can be considered a standard for the J-45 these days, it was originally a custom color seen in production from around 1967 to 1969, and the originals have been rising in price every year due to demand and rarity.
The guitar we are introducing today has dents and scratches throughout, and shows signs of age. The previous owner added additional strap pins and replaced the bridge pins, and the standard LRBaggs Lyric adjustable saddles have been installed.
When it arrived at our store, the frets were filed down and the nut replaced with an oiled cow bone nut at an affiliated repair shop, and combined with the modifications made by the previous owner, it is in very usable condition.
In terms of sound, the open resonance of the ADJ saddle, the cohesiveness of the oiled cow bone saddle, and the round shoulder body clad in mahogany are a great match, and the crisp, clear sound is so satisfying that it gets your brain juices flowing when you strum it.
If you're looking for a practical Gibson that doesn't mind minor scratches, this is the one for you!
