Fender USA VINTAGE Jazz Bass '79 OlympicWhite/M

Since its release in 1960, the Jazz Bass has been a staple of Fender's bass lineup alongside the Precision Bass, and continues to influence the music scene to this day. Numerous variations and reissues of the original, as well as models inspired by it by other companies, have been produced, establishing it as a solid standard for electric bass guitars.

The guitar we have in stock this time is a Head serial period ash body, maple fingerboard, 3-bolt joint, shipped around 1979.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 5.3 kg. The body is made of ash. The Olympic White body color has a nice tan finish and a lovely appearance. There are some dents, including the finger rest attachment marks on the side of the rear pickup, that have been touched up, weather checking appropriate for the model year, minor scratches, and tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar retains the lovely atmosphere of an old bass and is in relatively good condition. The finger rest is missing.

【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of solid maple. It features a three-point neck joint, a standard feature for this period. There are some minor dents with paint chipping around the headstock, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The tuners function well with little variation in winding tightness. The frets and nut have been replaced, and playability is excellent. The fingerboard and back of the neck have been repainted during the refret. The headstock is 16.1mm thick. The nut width is 38.7mm. The neck shape is relatively sturdy.

[Electrical system]
The controls are standard Jazz Bass wiring (2 volume/1 tone). The controls, including the pickups, remain the same as they were back then. The output is solid, and while it retains the ash-bodied Jazz Bass character, it also boasts a rich, full-bodied tone.
