This method involves using a brush to polish the soft part of the wood grain, called the summer grain, and bringing out the harder part of the grain, called the winter grain. In simple terms, it is a finish that brings out the three-dimensionality of the wood grain itself by rubbing the surface of the wood to bring out the annual rings. It is often seen on the verandas, wooden flooring, entrances, floorings, and wide verandas facing the gardens of shrines, temples, and ancient buildings all over the country, and its character improves over time.


The 6-ply equal-thickness composite shell combines two plies of mahogany and four plies of birch, producing a solid, calm sound in the mid-low range. It offers moderate power, a deep, solid tone, and a presence that stands out from other instruments. It's also an ideal entry-level model.

Many products are stocked across Ikebe stores in Japan. As a result, shipment may take several days. In-store sales may also cause items to sell out. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you promptly; in that case, the order will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

■ Shipping

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
