Description

The Stratocaster is Fender's signature model, beloved by guitarists around the world since its release in 1954. When it comes to electric guitars, this is the shape that comes to mind for many people.

This time, we have a large-head Stratocaster from around 1970. This early CBS-logoed model, featuring the large "With Synchronized Tremolo" logo, is known for its high market value and popularity. This is a practical guitar that has been customized with replaced pickups and a humbucker in the bridge pickup position.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.6 kg. The body is made of alder. The finish used during this period is the "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss," which uses a polyester base. The three-tone sunburst finish features a moderate fading of the red on the top and a brownish gradation. The red on the back remains well preserved. The pickguard, which tends to shrink over time, has been replaced as part of the current modification. While the overall finish shows the typical weather checking characteristic of the Thick-Skin finish, minor dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, it is in very good condition considering its age. The pickup covers and control knobs have also been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of beautiful, lustrous maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is some tarnish on the metal parts and some small dents around the headstock, but like the body, it is in fairly good condition. The tuners are Fender F keys, and although there is some variation in winding, they function well. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and there is currently very little wear, ensuring good playability. The headstock thickness is 15.6mm. The nut width is 41.0mm. The neck has a very sturdy shape.

[Electrical system]
The current controls are a 5-way pickup selector, master volume, neck (front) position tone, and bridge (rear) position tone. The pickups are SeymourDuncan Custom Shop-tuned, Michael Landau-spec Classic Stacks in the front and center positions. A Landau-spec Antiquity Humbucker is installed in the bridge position. The selector switch, pots, and capacitors have all been replaced. The volume control has a built-in high-pass filter. Based on the excellent response of the vintage materials, the guitar offers warm, clear sound in the front and center positions, and a fat, powerful sound in the bridge position.
