Description
Description
This time, we have the EB-9, the bass version of Guyatone's flagship model, the Sharp Five. Based on the specifications of the parts, we believe it is from the mid-1970s.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.6 kg. This guitar was released around 1967 as a sister model to the Guyatone "LG-350T Sharp5," and it also inherits its distinctive body shape. While there are small and large scratches and dents, tarnished metal parts, a cracked pickguard, a displaced strap pin, and other signs of age-related damage, it is in relatively good condition considering its age. The bridge has been replaced, and the surrounding screw holes remain. The bridge cover and mute are missing, and the switch cap has been replaced. The serial number on the joint plate has been erased.
【neck】
Like the body, this guitar features the same type of headstock as the Sharp Five. The fingerboard had some peeling on the headstock side, which we glued back together at our shop. The tuners are slightly unevenly wound, but still function properly. The frets show signs of wear, but we've filed them down and adjusted them at our shop, resulting in good playability. The nut width is approximately 40.8mm. The neck profile is narrow, thick, and rounded.
[Electrical system]
The controls are simple: one volume, one tone, and a three-way pickup selector switch. The pickups are two single-coil pickups described in the catalog as "ultra-high performance." The guitar boasts a thick, bouncy bass tone and an overall clean tone.
