Description

This is "Made In Japan" quality!

Momose's "MJ2-STD/M" is now in stock, a model that is renowned for its high level of perfection!
This model features an ash body and maple fingerboard, delivering a crisp, crisp JB sound. While retaining the basic structure of the vintage JB, such as the original body shape with a wide cutaway and wood binding on the neck, it incorporates modern updates throughout, elevating it to a unique style. It retains the traditional resonance and tone of the vintage JB, a design that Momose has always pursued. Furthermore, it further advances customization with an emphasis on modern playability, embracing Momose's core philosophy of "processing each wood to accommodate individual differences in mass, elasticity, resonance, and other characteristics." This completely handcrafted guitar delivers undeniable quality, pursuing the possibilities of vintage style.

The body shape is designed with a slightly wider cutaway for smooth shifting to higher positions and playability in mind. The head shape is striking yet retains a classic feel. The adjustment section retains the same design that allows for instantaneous settings, but the shape has been revised to allow for even more stress-free adjustments.

The neck profile, finished with a semi-matte, ultra-thin top lacquer for a smooth playing feel and meticulously sanded, further refines the grip feel. The 210-radius fingerboard eliminates choking in the upper registers, while the medium-sized, slightly tall JESCAR FW-NS9676-NS frets (equivalent to Jim Dunlop USA #6105) ensure precise fingering. The same wood binding on the fingerboard side, covering the fret tangs, provides a smoother neck grip and prevents burrs from developing in harsh conditions. The neck joint retains the traditional method of using a joint plate, but features a recessed groove and a unique heel cut for improved playability. The joint plate is made of a high-density material for optimal sound quality.
It also comes standard with the VJ-1 pickup, which has earned high praise from many players for its bright high range and thick low range, and for bringing out the natural tone of the wood.
