Description

GRANDEY BASS TOKYO 10th anniversary model, bass and guitar "Double Neck Headless" by TUNE!

Our shop has designed and sold many unique models, but this one is the ultimate in originality! Or is it two? It's a double-neck bass and guitar model! While a double-neck guitar might be one thing, a model that combines two different instruments in one is an extremely rare and niche specification that's hard to find these days, with the exception of a very few show models (which are usually extremely expensive).

The base model is TUNE's signature Zi-III. Instead of a standard four-string, this model combines the TUNE signature with a wide range of tones in a compact, headless design. The ash body delivers a clear, attacking sound, while the renowned original pickup and preamp combination allows for a wide range of tonal variations. The guitar section features a two-humbucker pickup for versatility. Enjoy a modern sound that's both powerful and sharp. While TUNE has become better known as a bass guitar brand in recent years, it originally manufactured a wide range of highly acclaimed electric and acoustic guitars, and as evidenced by the large number of professional guitarists who continue to use them today, the quality expected from a long-established brand is sure to satisfy even the most discerning guitarist. The bass and guitar sections feature independent outputs, allowing for completely separate sound creation with effects and amplifiers, or for use as standalone bass and guitar. In addition, the body size, which is inevitably larger due to the specifications, gives both instruments a body resonance that is not found in regular models, which has a significant effect on creating a thick, powerful sound.

It goes without saying, but the most important thing was not an eccentric sound or look, but rather a sound and playability that would also function as a practical instrument. We were very conscious of maintaining a high level of quality that would be sufficient for live performances and recordings as a standalone bass/guitar. While there are certainly disadvantages, such as the size and weight of the body itself (which is still quite light considering its size), the unparalleled playability of being able to switch between bass and guitar in an instant will greatly expand the possibilities of the instrument and the player.

Before this model was even possible, we approached several companies, including overseas, with similar specifications, but many of them were unable to accept orders, and even if they were able to, the price was unrealistically low. We were close to giving up on the idea, thinking it was impossible to realize. However, TUNE, a long-established Japanese brand, agreed, saying "This is an interesting idea!" and with their full cooperation on the design and sound settings, this long-awaited model was finally made a reality. They met our unreasonable demand of "a price that is an extension of the existing bass," and delivered the best cost performance. Considering that the regular TUNE Zi-III costs over 350,000 yen, you can probably imagine how amazing the price is.

The double-neck model, which received a huge response when it was produced as a TUNE original shape (TWB) or a JB type, is now back in a headless style, a style that many people have requested, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of GRANDEY BASS TOKYO! This ultimate original model, which we can be proud of, embodies our store's belief that "good instruments = interesting instruments" with the high-quality design and technical expertise that only a Japanese company can offer!
