Description

Greco is a long-established manufacturer that began producing musical instruments in the 1960s and has supported the Japanese music industry for many years. They produce a wide variety of models, both copies and originals, and their G Company LP copies in particular are highly acclaimed, with prices on the used market soaring.

This time we have the "GOII-700" from Greco's representative original model "GO" series.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The body, similar in shape to the ST model, features a neck-through (speedway construction) and is made of solid Sen wing wood with a natural finish. There are noticeable scratches and dents throughout, especially on the body end, and some very deep dents. The metal parts are also dull and show signs of wear consistent with the model's age.

【neck】
As mentioned above, the guitar features a neck-through (speedway construction) and is made of five pieces of maple and mahogany with a maple fingerboard. The tuners are Kluson-type SD81-05M, and although there is some variation in winding tightness, they function well. While the frets and nut show some wear, there is no excessive clogging or buzzing, and playability is good. The nut width is approximately 43.5mm. It doesn't feel particularly thick, and combined with the smooth heel cut, it is a relatively slim neck shape. The arm bar is missing, but the base for attaching the arm remains.

[Electrical system]
The controls are two volume controls, one tone control, a three-way pickup selector switch, and a phase switch (front pickup). The mini switch appears to have been removed, but it currently functions as the front phase switch, just like the original. The chocolate-covered original humbucker delivers high output and power, producing a crisp, clear sound.
