Description
Description
This is a signed instrument by Anika Nilles, the TAMA artist who uses this as her main snare drum!
☆STAR PHONIC snare drum!☆
Introducing the new STARPHONIC snare drum series, featuring a warm, open sound like a vintage snare drum, with an inclusive sound that envelops the band's ensemble!
The hoops, lugs, strainer switches, edge processing, etc. are all new and incorporate innovative ideas that have never been seen before.
The 6-inch deep shell has a solid sound without sacrificing good response, making full use of the bright and light sound characteristics unique to aluminum shells.
●Grooved Hoop
The Grooved Hoop is a 1.6mm thick steel flange hoop developed exclusively for STARPHONIC snares. By eliminating the tension bolt holes, the Grooved Hoop achieves the open sound characteristic of flanged hoops, along with high rigidity and roundness. The top edge of the hoop also uses an inward-bent design, a technique often seen on vintage snare drums. Unlike standard triple flange hoops, the Grooved Hoop guides the attack of the sound more vertically and moderately cuts overtones, resulting in a more focused sound.

●Non-Loosening Rubber Gasket
A new mechanism prevents the tension bolt from loosening during performance. A rubber stopper block is built into the claw hook, surrounding the tension bolt. When the tension bolt is tightened, the hook is pressed against the hoop, and the built-in rubber stopper is clamped between the hook and the hoop and contracts. This restoring force secures the tension bolt and prevents it from loosening.
●Freedom Lug & Claw Hook
The newly designed lug and claw hooks tilt outward when the tension bolt is loosened, releasing the claw hooks from the hoop. This mechanism makes it easier and faster to change drum heads without having to completely remove the tension bolts from the lugs.

●Linear Drive Strainer
Even when the lever is moved quickly, the snare itself moves at a slow, constant speed in response to the amount of movement, thanks to a linear structure. This minimizes the loud clicking noise that occurs when the snare hits the bottom head, even when the lever is quickly turned on and off during performance.

●Ratchet Style Snappy Tension Adjuster
To prevent the snare tension from loosening during performance, the strainer's adjustment knob uses a ratchet-type adjustment mechanism with an internal gear. Since it won't loosen unless the tension exceeds a certain level, it boasts extremely high tension retention. Furthermore, the snare's vertical width can be adjusted in extremely fine increments of 0.125 mm per gear, allowing for even more precise tension adjustment.
●Detachable Butt Plate
By tilting the snappy cord fixing plate by 30 degrees compared to previous models, the snappy itself can be more securely attached to the head without applying excessive force that could adversely affect the drum shell or strainer.

●Bearing Edge
The bearing edge is one of the most important elements that influences the sound of a drum. As shown in the cross-section diagram on the left, STARPHONIC's snare drum has part A, which comes into contact with the drumhead, at its peak 2.5 mm from the outside of the shell. This increases the degree of contact between the drumhead and the edge, maximizing the sound of the drum itself without interfering with the sound of either the drum shell or the drumhead.
●Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare
To achieve a light, crisp sound, we completely reconsidered everything from the coil material and pitch to the shape of the coil plate, creating a completely new snare. By improving snare head compliance and achieving both exquisite grip and a crisp sound, we have achieved sensitivity and rich expressiveness that captures even the finest passages of the player's playing.
