Jay Rocket Audio Designs, a high-end effects pedal brand from California, USA, has released Clockwork Echo, a high-quality analog echo that adds true stereo output, modulation, and tap tempo.
This versatile, authentic analog echo pedal was designed in collaboration with Howard Davis, who also designed the popular Electro-Harmonic Deluxe Memory Man. The delay (echo) section is an analog circuit using a high-quality BBD chip, with only the tap tempo controlled digitally.
Another feature is the always-on boost, which means that when the level control is turned up, the boost is applied regardless of whether the effect is on or off. By adding modulation to high-quality echo and providing a stereo output, a wide range of sounds is achieved.
The controls are arranged intuitively with two large knobs on the left and right: "Mix" between the original and effect sounds, and "Level" for adjusting the volume (gain). The upper row between them is where you'll find "Time" and "Repeat" for the delay (echo) effect, and the lower row is where you'll find "Speed" and "Depth" for modulation. The three footswitches, from left to right, turn the effect on/off, modulation on/off, and tap tempo.
The time expression jack is located on the right side, and the other input and output jacks are located on the back. It features true stereo output with two output jacks (L and R channels). It also has two expression pedal jacks, allowing you to connect an expression pedal (sold separately) to control "time" and "repeat" separately.
It requires only a 9V power supply (sold separately) and features artwork on the top that evokes modern clockwork, with a mechanical gear theme reminiscent of analog.
