The WL-20L has the same basic functions as the WL-20, but it lacks cable tone simulation. Therefore, it is optimized for instruments where the cable has little to no effect on sound quality, such as electric acoustic guitars with built-in preamps, guitars and basses with active pickups (pickups that require batteries), and instruments with line-level output, like shoulder keyboards. The WL-20L can also be used with passive pickups if the cable-specific tonal changes are not desired.
