◆James Tyler Guitars Design
The STR JTG DESIGN is a model designed by legendary guitar builder James Tyler. His encounter with STR craftsman Satoru Yatsuka was in 2014. While planning Tyler's series for the Japanese market, the technical capabilities of the Asuka factory, led by Yatsuka, were recognized. The craftsmen at the Asuka factory underwent training at a workshop in LA and then produced a highly polished prototype. The quality surprised even Tyler himself.
In recognition of his achievements, Tyler devised a new design for STR. After several months of designing it using CAD, the STR JTG DESIGN was born. This is a top-quality instrument that combines Yatsuka's exceptional craftsmanship with Tyler's sophisticated guitar design.
James Tyler sadly passed away in 2024, but his philosophy and passion live on. Satoru Yatsuzuka has inherited Tyler's guitar designs and continues to create guitars with exceptional craftsmanship and unwavering conviction. His spirit resides in every detail of the guitar, and lives on in the hands of the player.

◆A unique expression created by fluid art. Asuka's paint craftsmen have uniquely refined the "fluid art" technique, which applies the flowing patterns created when paint is dropped into water, resulting in a truly special finish. The design, reminiscent of classical Japanese art, exudes a unique and unparalleled presence. The delicate design of flowing lines that extend not only to the body top but also to the body back and headstock creates an artistic presence.

◆James Tyler Pickup
The pickups used are James Tyler's "JTS5500" and "SUPER" pickups.
The JTS5500 pickups, positioned in the neck and middle positions, utilize Alnico 5 magnets. Combined with their unique characteristics, these pickups deliver a powerful attack, impressive power, and a sparkling, bell-like tone.
The "SUPER" setting in the rear position delivers the sound of modern rock, with a restrained midrange but characterized by a deep bass and outstanding clarity in the presence range.

◆Flame Maple Neck: We have selected the highest grade flame maple, with stripes running from the back of the neck all the way to the tip of the headstock. Please see its artistic appearance for yourself. The neck grip follows the grip shape favored by James Tyler.

◆Hipshot Grip Lock Tuners: These locking tuners from Hipshot, a company renowned for its high quality, are used here. The precisely cut 18:1 gear ratio ensures smooth operation and accurate tuning over time. The three adjustable tuner post heights provide a natural tension feel from the bass strings to the treble strings.

◆Jescar Jumbo Frets: This guitar features Jescar frets, a standard choice for modern component guitars. The jumbo-sized frets allow for smoother string pressing on the fretboard, resulting in more comfortable fingering. By firmly supporting the string vibrations, they produce a rich, resonant sound and ensure ample sustain.

◆GOTOH 510T-SF1 JTC Bridge
This guitar features a GOTOH 510T-SF1 two-point tremolo unit. The 510T series thoroughly pursues performance as a tremolo unit. High-hardness chromium-molybdenum steel is used for the pivot points of the movable edge, ensuring excellent strength and wear resistance. As a result, tuning stability after using the tremolo arm is dramatically improved, enhancing accuracy and reliability during playing. The bridge is a custom specification of STR JTG Design, with the "James Tyler" logo on the saddles.

*This product features a special coating applied to the body's colored layer, followed by a lacquer finish. While maintenance can be performed in the same way as for lacquer-finished guitars, please be aware that scratches or other damage to the colored layer may be difficult to repair. Please handle with care.
