Description
Description
The ES-330T was released in 1959. Similar to the ES-335TD, it features a hollow double-cutaway body with no center block and a set neck with a 16-fret joint. In addition to a version with two P-90 pickups, a single-pickup version was also available in the early days, up until 1962.
Based on the serial number and parts date, we believe this watch was shipped around 1963. It is a beautiful piece that has been kept in good condition.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 2.8 kg. The body is made of hollow maple. The familiar Gibson thin-body shape, exemplified by the ES-335TD, is finished in a vibrant cherry color that resists fading. The tailpiece shows signs of a former Bigsby B-7 unit, but has since been replaced with a standard swing tailpiece. There is some overall weather checking, dents, and signs of wear on the metal parts, but considering the age of the guitar, it is in fairly good condition. A strap pin has been added to the neck heel.
【neck】
The neck is made of one-piece mahogany. The fingerboard is, needless to say, made of exquisite rosewood. There is some weather checking from the headstock to the back of the neck, some paint chipping due to use, and some slight tarnish on the parts, but like the body, it is in excellent condition. The tuners have been replaced from the original Kluson Deluxe to Grover 102 tuners, and they function well with little variation in winding. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and playability is excellent. The nut width is 43.1mm. The neck profile is distinctive of this period, featuring a clean yet substantial thickness.
[Electrical system]
The controls are standard: a 3-way pickup selector, 2 volumes, and 2 tones. The pickups are the same as the original P-90s. Combined with a full-hollow design without a center block, the guitar delivers an incredibly fast attack, rich airiness, and an open, woody tone that lets you feel the cabinet resonance directly. The front position produces a sweet, lustrous jazz blues sound, while the rear position produces a sharp, edgy drive tone. The mix position produces a three-dimensional clean sound rich in overtones, allowing you to enjoy a rich, expressive sound.
