Mayones' serious mini bass, the "Cali 4"! Fretless version now available

Founded in Poland in 1982, MAYONES is a popular brand, especially in Europe, known for its meticulous handcrafted craftsmanship and distinctive look and sound. Its endorsers include Wes Borland (LIMP BIZKIT), Greg Mackintosh (PARADISE LOST), Eero Heinonen (THE RASMUS), Lena Abe (MY DYING BRIDE), Pawel Maciwoda (SCORPIONS), and Maurizio Rolli, among others.

This is the "CALI," which is based on the silhouette of the original single cutaway model "Caledonius" and has an astonishingly mini scale of 17.1 inches (436 mm)!

Although the top of this instrument is labeled 3A, it is made from high-grade wood with a deep, rich grain and a beautiful custom color that is a mix of yellow and orange.
The neck is made of 11 pieces of multi-layer laminate combining mahogany, maple, Amazocore, and wenge, and the fingerboard is made of deep black ebony, which is also popular for wood and acoustic basses for both its tone and appearance.

This bass is tuned to a piccolo bass (one octave above a standard bass), and the traditional tone of the ash/maple top, combined with the firm, crisp neck and fingerboard materials, allows for a wide range of playing styles, from melodic melodies to chords, and even drive and octave effects, depending on the player's imagination. This instrument also has recessed fret lines for enhanced playability.

The body and neck are made from offcuts from the regular model production process, so the wood grade and production quality are comparable to regular custom models, and the electronics are also impeccable, with Mayones original pickups and preamps. Another feature of this model is the built-in rechargeable headphone preamp, making it easy to play even on business trips or short trips.

*The guitar is shipped with strings of approximately 30-45-65-85mm, so when restringing, please use strings of the same thickness as the 1st (C) through 4th (A) strings on a 6-string bass. Depending on the thickness of the new strings, you may need to groove the nut.

*Please note that the Cali series uses scrap wood from the production of custom models, so there may be processing marks remaining on the wood.
