Description
Description
There is a crack in the paint on the back panel screw hole that needs repair, but other than that it is in very good condition and ready to use right away.
The body is made of ash, which is characterized by a bright midrange and was carefully selected by wood selection specialists exclusively for the custom shop. The elbow and back contours have been processed to the shape of the original, so the elbow contour is finished shallowly, and another point not to be missed is the shallow radius on the top side of the joint on the 1st string side.
The pickguard is a single-ply white guard with eight fastening points, and because it is made of a thin material, just like the original, it has shown distortion and lift that are likely to occur over time from the time of completion.
The neck, like the body, is made of carefully selected one-piece quarter-sawn maple, the fingerboard radius is the same 7.25R-9.5R compound radius used in the Vintage Custom series, and the frets are medium vintage size, with narrow width and height.
The neck grip is finished in the 70th Anniversary Soft V shape, measured from a guitar produced in July 1954.
The thickness changes little from the low to the high position, providing a comfortable C-shaped grip. While players have preferences for thinner or thicker grip thickness, the shape and thickness have been designed to be comfortable for everyone to play.
The body and neck are finished in an all-lacquer finish, just like the vintage models. This model also features a time capsule finish, giving it a beautiful appearance with no signs of use whatsoever.
The ultra-thin flash-coat lacquer finish allows you to feel the texture of the wood. The body is finished without buffing, resulting in a thinner finish that doesn't interfere with the wood's vibrations, allowing you to experience a pleasant, warm sound and sustain even when played unaided. The more you play, the more the wood resonates, developing into a truly vintage-like sound.
The Custom Shop guitars offer a unique, unparalleled acoustic sound, boasting a clear, bolt-on construction, and a rich, airy sound when output from an amplifier. The Flash Coat lacquer finish also provides a rich, vibrant tone, allowing you to fully experience the vibrations of the body and neck with just one chord.
Its overwhelming natural sound is so comfortable that you can play it forever without having to output it through an amplifier, and it's a quality that can only be experienced at a custom shop where you can enjoy a satisfying playing experience.
The pickups that produce this wonderful sound are all hand-wound, which gives the amplifier a richer, more acoustic feel with more overtones than regular machine-wound pickups.
This model is equipped with a '54 Stratocaster Single-Coil pickup, which delivers a full yet crisp tone. The lowered third-string pole piece provides excellent volume balance for the plain strings, and the center position in particular produces a clean sound with excellent resonance and body.
The controls are Strat Vintage 54/58, and although it uses a 5-way lever switch, the bridge pickup is tone-bypassed for vintage style, giving the bridge pickup a clean, single-ended low end for a vintage tone.
Another attractive feature is the warm sound of the neck and middle pickups when the tone is turned down using wax paper capacitors. By turning down the volume a little, you can achieve a tonal balance from the neck to the bridge, allowing for the control that only vintage wiring can provide.
The hardware includes a synchronized tremolo with PAT.PEND.-stamped saddles, vintage-style Kluson machine heads, and a slightly oxidized Closet Classic finish.
Other small parts are also unique to this 70th anniversary limited edition model, including the control knobs, selector switch tip, and string guide, all made with the same materials and shapes as the 1954 model. This disc-type design ensures that even from a distance, it's recognizable as a '54 Stratocaster. The joint plate also features the Fender Custom Shop logo and is engraved with "70TH ANNIVERSARY 1954 - 2024 STRATOCASTER."
Don't miss out on this beautiful used anniversary model, which has an old-fashioned design that faithfully recreates the 1954 model, but is also easy to handle!
