STAR Bubinga Snare Drum
STAR Drums is a flagship model that takes the know-how we've cultivated over many years of drum making, of bringing out the best in shell resonance, one step further by revising the shell structure and designing new parts.
The drum shell is made of bubinga wood, which is highly acclaimed for its dark, deep tone and powerful sound. The shell is molded into an extremely thin shell (4.5 mm). The inner surface of the shell is reinforced with a thick 9 mm sound focus ring, resulting in a clear sound with a distinct fundamental tone.
STAR Drums delivers the ultimate drum sound, combining the skills of skilled Japanese craftsmen with innovative ideas.

Bubinga Shells
Molded with a thin shell just 4.5mm thick, the STAR Bubinga shell features a 9mm thick sound focus ring on the inside of the shell, improving the shell's vibration efficiency and achieving rich resonance. Pursuing even greater resonance, the STAR Bubinga shell is characterized by a clear sound with a distinct fundamental tone.

●Inside Finish
Each STAR Bubinga shell is hand-finished with an oil finish on the inside and edges, achieving a luxurious feel and texture without compromising the sound characteristics of the wood. Furthermore, all bubinga shells are made with Cordia wood on the inside, creating an even more luxurious look.

Snappy Bed
STAR Drums' snare drums use an original shape that differs from the shapes used in previous TAMA drums. As with the tom-toms and bass drums, to make better use of the shell's resonance and obtain a clear sound with good note definition, the snare has a large flat surface, as shown by the red line in the diagram, so that the entire snare wire makes contact with the head surface as evenly as possible.

●Air Hole
The STAR series snare drums have three air holes located in the horizontal center of the shell, which produces a brighter, drier sound than a standard shell with one air hole.

●Newly Designed One-Piece Lug
The newly designed lugs are small and bridge-type, minimizing the contact area with the shell. The smaller lugs not only lighten the weight of the snare drum body, but also allow for an 8-tension design for both the 13 and 14 models. Reducing the number of parts allows for a more open and richer resonance, fully utilizing the shell's inherent potential.

●Linear-Drive Strainer
This strainer has succeeded in minimizing the noise that occurs when the snare hits the bottom head, even when the lever is moved quickly. The structure ensures that the snare fits securely against the head without putting any extra strain on the shell or strainer.

Die-Cast Hoops
STAR drums use highly rigid die-cast zinc hoops, which keep the contact surface between the head and hoop perpendicular at all times, allowing for sensitive tuning even with strict tuning. Another major attraction is the powerful sound with a clear fundamental tone.

●Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare
The combination of excellent tracking with the snare head, exquisite grip, and crisp resonance delivers a light, crisp sound, while also achieving sensitivity and rich expressiveness that captures even the finest passages.
