Description
Inspired by the Bosstone circuit, the Hephaestus was born as a homage to the classic "Spirit in the Sky" fuzz box. The combination of an NPN and PNP transistor pair gives you that familiar gain sound, but that's not enough. That's where the Warning knob comes in.
The WARNING knob is a voltage adjuster that shifts the circuit parameters: Turning it to 1 o'clock will give you a wild, analog sub-octave effect, while still maintaining the classic fuzz cleanup you expect from a pedal like this.
The only knob on the face of the Hephaestus, Warning, adjusts the voltage of the circuit. Turning it fully clockwise (5 o'clock) gives you a straightforward fuzz sound, while turning the knob back starts to unlock sub-octaves and other harmonics. The balance of these sounds and their interaction with your guitar changes depending on where you set the knob, so experiment to find where it works best for you.
There's a small volume trimmer inside that, once you set it to your liking, doesn't need to be adjusted very often.
