Description

This stylish 2024 edition black model is a popular Maurice model. Maurice is an indispensable brand in the history of Japanese acoustic folk guitars. The catchphrase "Guitar is Maurice" still rings in the ears of many acoustic guitar fans, making it a truly long-established Japanese brand. Committed to domestic production, Maurice's "HAND MADE" series features a lineup of models that exude the ruggedness and durability of a long-established acoustic guitar brand. Produced by a small, semi-handcrafted production line, Maurice's simple, traditional style allows you to enjoy the quality of a Japanese-made acoustic guitar at an affordable price, resulting in exceptionally high-quality models for this price range.

This model is part of the S series, which was released in 2001 as a dedicated fingerstyle instrument and gained popularity for its style-specific playability and outstanding sound. This is a limited edition version of the classic fingerstyle guitar, the S-101 III, which is by far the most popular of the S series.

The S-101 III is the third-generation model of the popular S-101, known for its versatile handling and ease of use. It features a Grand Auditorium/Deep Round body with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. The unique rounded back design delivers a rich, full bass while maintaining a well-balanced range.
Furthermore, further improvements to the bracing and internal body structure from the previous model result in a powerful yet airy sound. The guitar is packed with features that perfectly meet the demands of fingerstyle guitarists, including a long scale and Gotoh peg tuners that provide exceptionally stable pitch even in drop tunings, a 44mm nut that prevents finger cramming, and an ultra-thin neck shape that provides excellent playability even with precise fingering.

While it's usually finished in a natural, woody satin finish, this model is finished in a limited edition glossy black finish, giving it a stylish look that's different from the regular model, and highlighting the Avalon fingerboard inlays and rosette.

Another attractive feature is that it is made entirely in Japan, is entirely handmade, and is made of solid wood, yet offers excellent cost performance at just over 100,000 yen.
It is also highly recommended as a step-up for beginners to fine gait style!!
