Description

Basic practice for the smallest unit of ensemble, "two people" Duo practice Trumpet

Editor/Author: Tomoki Ubata: Supervisory cooperation

While daily basic practice is often done individually or in parts, this book aims to improve basic skills and cultivate expressive techniques in an ensemble by having students have fun by conducting various basic training exercises in duos, the smallest unit in an ensemble.
When playing in an ensemble, playing in a self-centered manner is a no-no.
Listen to what the others are doing, notice the points where you need to match up, and join in without interrupting the flow of the music to build the music together.
This is the true joy of ensemble playing.
Use this book to develop your listening skills, attention, and quick thinking, and hone your expressive abilities when playing in an ensemble.
In this series, taking into consideration the circumstances of small bands that cannot form duos in the same part, each instrument is written in the same key so that different instruments can practice together (with the exception of some pieces in "Duo Practice Horn," "Duo Practice Clarinet," "Duo Practice Saxophone," and "Duo Practice Treble Woodwind").
We also have harmony practice sessions available for groups of three or more people, so feel free to join in with the friends who are gathered at the time.
The practice pieces in the second half of the book are songs that reflect the characteristics of each musical period. The points to pay attention to vary depending on the musical style, so try playing a variety of songs to broaden your range of expression.

The project was supervised and supported by Ubata Tomoki, the brass band advisor at Saitama Prefectural Ina Gakuen Comprehensive High School, a school that regularly ranks highly in competitions.
