Ovaltone PRIME GEAR DELUXE (Oval Tone) Buffer/Booster/Junction Box

PRIME GEAR DELUXE is a multi-functional buffer, the fourth generation of Ovaltone's high-quality buffer series, PRIME GEAR.

In addition to its buffer function, this unit can be used for a variety of purposes, including two input selectors, an approximately 19dB clean booster, an independent buffered tuner output(*1), a junction box, a tuner mute, and a signal splitter, making it easy to reuse when rearranging boards.The buffer section also features a readjusted CURVED input impedance(*2), a feature of the PRIME GEAR series, and the elements and circuits used have been reconsidered, resulting in a buffer with even less coloration and a more natural sound than before.

*1...The tuner output buffer has a different circuit than the main output buffer.
*2...It is called CURVED impedance because the impedance curve decreases as the frequency increases.

-When using INPUT U, foot switch → boost on/off

-When using INPUT B, the foot switch is muted, and the boost knob is always active.

-When using both INPUT U/B, foot switch → input switching boost knob → active when BOOST channel is selected

-R terminal When using as a signal output junction box for a tuner, etc., R can be used as a return input and R → O can be used as a through.

-BOOST
The BOOST knob provides a flat boost of approximately 19dB.
The change in the first half of the knob position is gradual, but as you approach full throttle, the boost increases dramatically.

*Note: When boosting, some parts use large capacitors to maintain a flat sound down to the low frequencies. The original sound will return after about 40 seconds of power on.
