Description

A new type of preamp/booster invented by Hiroshi Takamatsu (THE NOVEMBERS)!
Minor changes have been made to the exterior from the previous model, such as rust treatment on the casing, and the foot switch has been made soft-touch for easier use.

1995fx is an effects pedal brand based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, that has been active since 2009. This up-and-coming brand, created by guitarist and builder Sugimoto and bassist springman (PAM/Tricondor), is already garnering a lot of attention from professional musicians.

This highly practical preamp/booster was conceived by Hiroshi Takamatsu, bassist for THE NOVEMBERS and a frequent customer of ours. It's not just a bass preamp, but also works well as a guitar preamp and booster. Turning all controls except for the Volume fully down activates the buffer, while increasing each control boosts the signal. Its adjustable range ranges from natural coloration to extreme sounds, and the Saturation knob allows for slight distortion, allowing the signal to blend seamlessly into the band sound without standing out.

The thickly boosted yet well-balanced lows have a great effect not only when heard through an amplifier but also when used line-in, and are particularly well-suited to punchy basses such as PB types.

Maker's comment: "The thing I struggled with the most was figuring out where the peaks should be in the low and high frequency ranges. The bass sounds good when played alone, but gets a little buried when played with a band, and I think we were able to find a good balance thanks to the cooperation of Takamatsu-san, who is active at the forefront of the industry. Also, the potentiometer was originally B-curve, but this made the change too sudden, so we changed it to a C-curve potentiometer, which gives a more natural feel when operated. This time, we used Takuman Electronics REX resistors and WIMA and Panasonic capacitors."

■Controls Volume: Adjusts the volume during effect.
・Saturation: This is a knob that saturates the sound, and as you turn it, a slight mid-range comes out.
・Dull: Boosts the low to ultra-low frequencies.
・Sharp: Boosts the mid to high range.
・Deep Switch: Changes the Dull frequency band (push down to lower the frequency band).
