Description
Description
Generally, saxophone screws are made of brass, but by replacing the screws that secure the ring (support) that connects the bell to the second tube with ones made of nickel silver, it is possible to increase the efficiency of the vibration of the entire tube without impairing the pure resonance that the saxophone bell inherently possesses. This is an important part that has a significant impact on the contours, overtones, and resonance of the sound.
*What is nickel silver?
An alloy of copper and zinc is called brass, and has long been used as a material for brass instruments and saxophones due to its ease of processing and tone. Nickel silver is a material made by mixing nickel with brass, and as it adds the hardness and corrosion resistance of nickel to brass, it has long been used for some saxophone parts that require strength. In recent years, it has also begun to be used as a material for saxophone bodies, and its unique sound is creating a new direction for saxophones. (Atsumi)
■We received a comment from Tatsuya Sato!
"The [buzz] neck screws, layer screws, and support ring screws are individually carved to enhance the sound and playing feel of your saxophone. Nickel silver, a metal used in flutes and some high-end saxophones, produces rich overtones. I use them myself, and I highly recommend them!"
■YAMAHA compatible models: 82Z, 875EX
*If you have any questions about the model you will be using, please contact us in advance.
*After replacement, the angle of the bell may change, which may result in poor sealing of the bass keys. The cost of adjusting the bass keys is not included in the product price, so please contact us separately if you experience any problems.
