The series is equipped with a first-of-its-kind DSP, which has succeeded in improving precision and flexibility, allowing for consistent sound reproduction.
The familiar MMD waveguide design of the KH series diffuses high frequencies along the horizontal axis, allowing for position-independent working. The KH 80 DSP is designed for use as a studio near-field monitor as well as front/rear speakers in small multi-channel systems. It is also suitable for home recording, such as desktop music.

Despite its compact design, it offers incredible adaptability, and incorporates Neumann's monitor philosophy, including a directivity optimized for the listening position, a vibration-suppressing cabinet design, and sophisticated material selection.
Neumann engineers have mastered every nuance, angle, and wave reflection in the KH 80 DSP. This precise manipulation of every sound wave results in a pure sound. The KH 80 DSP design is based on proprietary computer simulations. The MMD (Mathematically Modeled Dispersion Waveguide) provides precise sound image localization.
Neumann also takes "your room" into account. It could be a recording studio, an outside broadcast truck, a corner of an office, or just a brick building. The room determines the sound. Surfaces and corners in the room cause interference, diffraction, reflection, and refraction, all of which are forms of distortion. Getting true sound without acoustical or physical mishaps usually requires expensive equipment, sufficient time and expertise to position it correctly, or clever algorithms. The "Acoustical Control" switch on the back allows you to easily adjust the monitor's position (freestanding, small/medium/large desk).
