Fender USA VINTAGE Stratocaster '79 Refinish Natural/M

Since its release in 1954, the Fender Stratocaster has remained a beloved model among guitarists worldwide. When people think of electric guitars, this is the shape that comes to mind for many.

This particular guitar, shipped around 1979, is a large-headstock model from the head-serialization era. It's in player's condition with some parts replaced, and the original natural-colored body has been repainted and looks beautiful.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 4.4 kg. The body is made of ash. It features conductive paint in the cavity, a new specification from the latter half of 1979. The original body color is presumed to have been natural based on the condition of the tremolo spring cavity, but it has now been beautifully refinished with lacquer. It appears that some time has passed since the refinishing, and there are signs of use such as weather checking, scratches and dents, a hole for a mini switch in the pickguard, and tarnishing of the metal and plastic parts. The bridge unit (made in Japan) and pickup covers have been replaced, and the back panel is missing.

【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of one-piece maple. The popular large headstock is one of its attractive features. The headstock has a nice patina, and there is some paint peeling due to age around the headstock, on the fingerboard, and on the back of the neck, as well as some tarnishing on the metal parts, giving it a vintage feel and good condition, just like the body. The tuners are fully functional, although there is some slight variation in the tension. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and although there is some wear, the playability is good. The headstock thickness is 15.9mm. The nut width is 41.0mm. It features a relatively sturdy neck shape.

[Electrical System]
The controls are in the orthodox Stratocaster style: 5-way pickup selector, master volume, neck (front) position tone, and center position tone. All three potentiometers have been replaced, and the capacitors have been replaced with Orange Drop capacitors. The pickups are the "MUY GRANDE" set from Rio Grande Pickups, which are characterized by their fat Texas sound.

Based on the clear attack and punchy tone characteristic of an ash-bodied Stratocaster, this guitar boasts a thick, powerful mid-low range and rich sustain, while maintaining the crispness of a single-coil pickup to output a strong, impactful sound. Clean tones are fat and glossy, while crunch and overdrive tones feature a sticky midrange and a clear, loud tone. With its 5-way selector, it can handle a wide range of sounds, from sharp cutting to thick lead tones.
