Description
Description
From the 1930s to the 1950s, New York's 52nd Street was at the forefront of the jazz scene, centered around legendary jazz clubs. Also affectionately known as "The Street" or "Swing Street," this 52nd Street model, coveted by all saxophonists, is the pinnacle of modern-day saxophones from Eastman, distilling and reintegrating the essence of vintage saxophones from the 1920s to 1970s. Its sound evokes the hustle and bustle of yesteryear, along with the flavor of purple smoke, and the high-pitched introductions of legendary MC Pee Wee Marquette.
The ETS652NL is thick and powerful, yet also has a crisp, solid sound that gives it a tasteful vintage sound.
■Large bell: A large bell flare that provides ample power to handle a variety of situations.
■Nickel silver key rods and neck socket The long-shaft key rods and neck sockets, which are subjected to large torque when the keys are operated, are made of nickel silver, which has high torsional rigidity and wear resistance.
■Two types of surface finishes available The surface finish comes in two types: one is an oxide coating applied to a solid brass base, which reproduces the texture of a well-used no-lacquer model, and the other is a standard gold lacquer finish.
■Neck
The ETS652 features an M-type neck designed by Bob Mintzer, which has a thicker inner diameter than the S and an angle optimized for playing.
■Round-shaped key cups: Rather than the sharp, square key cups used on modern standard saxophones, these key cups have beautiful, rounded curves similar to those of vintage saxophones.
■Rolled Tone Holes The rolled tone holes commonly found on vintage American saxophones have been recreated using cutting-edge modern technology. The pads fit snugly against the tone holes, recreating the deep, resonant sound and comfortable key touch characteristic of instruments from that time.
