A φ25 microphone capsule enhances the presence of sound. Based on the microphone capsule for the C-100, which is renowned for its high sound quality, the new microphone capsule for the C-80 has been developed. The acoustic impedance of the back plate has been reduced, achieving high sensitivity. The insulating structure is made of high-strength, high-insulation polyetherimide (PEI) that has been precisely machined. The capsule case and back electrode are made of brass that has been precisely machined. The diaphragm is coated with 24-karat gold. By assembling and processing these components with high precision, we have achieved high-precision, high-purity sound pickup with minimal distortion.


Dual-diaphragm structure suppresses proximity effect, enabling stable recording and streaming. The rear of the capsule incorporates an acoustic phase-shifting circuit that adjusts the sound quality picked up not only from the front but also from the rear, achieving unidirectionality. When a sound source approaches a microphone, a phenomenon known as proximity effect occurs, in which low frequencies are emphasized. The C-80 achieves the same level of proximity effect suppression as the C-100 thanks to a dual-diaphragm structure that also places a diaphragm on the rear of the microphone capsule. This allows for stable recording and streaming, even when the microphone is placed close to the mouth during vocal or voice recording.


The microphone body uses the same "resonance-proof housing structure" as the C-800G/C-100, reducing body resonance and eliminating muddy sounds for clear sound. It also features a low-cut filter that suppresses unwanted low-frequency noise from outside and home devices, and a pad switch function that minimizes distortion caused by excessive input sound.

Directivity and frequency response: High-precision metal film resistors are used for the signal line resistance, achieving powerful, highly accurate sound quality. The output terminals are XLR-3-12C type with gold-plated contacts. Low-cut filter included. Pad switch function.
