★The New Original
The original Neve 2254 mono limiter/compressor unit, designed in 1969, quickly became legendary. Forty years later, the 2254's successor, the Neve 2254/R mono limiter/compressor, represents another milestone.
Discrete, Class A design and transformer-coupled circuits – used in the input, innovative bridge-driver design, sidechain and output stages – ensure a totally unique sound.
Using the same architecture, matching components, and original hand-wound transformer, it not only retains the unique sonic characteristics of the original 2254, but enhances it with features desired by modern producers and engineers. While the original, developed before outboard motor designs were standardized, had a roughly cubic shape, the new 2254/R adopts a 1U 19-inch rackmount form factor. And the new model allows settings to be saved and recalled via USB using Neve Total Recall™ software.
There's also a manually adjustable fast attack time that's continuously variable between 100µS and 2mS, plus an enhanced signal presence LED that changes from green to red to warn of impending clipping.
Compatible with Neve Total Recall™ software, simply connect the 2254/R via USB to a host PC or Mac running Neve Recall software.
