A cutting-edge auto-detection algorithm analyzes input guitar chords and generates harmonies of up to three notes. It also features a mode that automatically adapts to complex songs, including key changes. You can fine-tune the subtle variations in the harmony itself and the musical compatibility with the vocal tone as needed. You can also control harmonies by connecting the VE-500 to external devices such as keyboards and DAWs via MIDI.

■ Turn your imagination into sound - Vocal effects
The VE-500 features a wide range of high-quality effects specifically tuned for vocals. Various routing options, including series and parallel, allow you to apply separate effects to harmonies and vocals. The preamp section provides a foundational sound, allowing you to refine it with enhance, EQ, de-esser, and compressor, while two independent delay/reverb effects add a richer tone. Other effects include standard chorus, flanger, and tremolo, as well as sub-delay/reverb, and even distortion, radio voice, ring modulator, slicer, and filter for added vocal accents. Up to four of these effects can be used simultaneously, allowing you to create the exact vocal sound you're looking for.

■Make your guitar sing - Vocoder function Another notable feature of the VE-500 is its vocoder, inherited from the BOSS compact pedal VO-1. Connect a guitar to the VE-500 and you can create an electric voice singing along with it. You can also recreate the "talk box" sound heard in classic hit songs, making it sound like the guitar is singing, without the need for a mouthpiece.

■ From pitch-keeping to "croaky voice" - Pitch Correction Function
The VE-500 also features a separate pitch correction function guided by guitar or MIDI. This function ensures seamless, accurate pitch correction, making it useful for songs with unstable pitch or for harmony vocals by non-main vocalists. By using this function at extreme settings, you can achieve a wide range of vocal sounds, from the harsh pitch correction often heard in dance music, to robotic vocals.

■Customizable controls
The VE-500's clear display and easy-to-use knobs and buttons make it easy to recall patches and change settings. Three knobs can be individually assigned to various parameters. Three footswitches are also provided, allowing you to freely control patch selection, designated effects and harmony on/off, the looper function, and more. Furthermore, you can add external footswitches, expression pedals, and connect to MIDI devices, further expanding the flexibility of your performance. Up to 99 patches can be saved, and connecting to a PC (Mac or Windows) via USB supports changing settings and managing the library using dedicated software.
