About S5V
The S5V main monitor is a 3-way monitor designed for medium to large studio control rooms. It has the extremely powerful reproduction capabilities that studio professionals expect from a reference speaker of this size, reproducing high-resolution, wide frequency range sound with complete accuracy and clarity.
The S5V features a 12-inch low-frequency driver that incorporates both ADAM Audio's newly designed S Series ELE (Extended Linear Excursion) and SMA (Symmetrical Magnet Assembly) concepts, delivering high-quality audio reproduction unmatched in precision, dynamic range, and sonic transparency. The musically important midrange is precisely reproduced by ADAM Audio's new 4.5-inch DCH (Dome Cone Hybrid) midrange. Combined with the breathtakingly realistic high-frequency reproduction of the S-ART tweeter (an update to ADAM Audio's much-acclaimed folded ribbon tweeter), manufactured to even tighter tolerances, the S5V delivers the most subtle and intricate details of the sound field.
The tweeter and midrange drivers are fitted with machined aluminium HPS/MPS waveguides (High-frequency/Mid-range Propagation System), which ensure precise off-axis mid- and high-frequency response, resulting in a consistent beam pattern across a wide area, allowing multiple contributors to work simultaneously in the same speaker sweet spot.
The custom-designed DSP in the S Series not only optimizes crossover settings to achieve a linear, flat response across a wide frequency range, but also offers user-configurable EQ and voicing/tuning functions to adapt to room acoustics. It also features a high-frequency limiter for excessive input, AES3 digital input, and future expansion options. Software updates are possible via the built-in USB port, and DSP functions can be controlled from software on a computer by connecting the speaker to the computer.
The S5V is powered by a total of three amplifiers: a 700W Class D amplifier for the low-frequency driver, a 350W Class D amplifier for the DCH midrange, and a 250W Class D amplifier for the tweeter.
The legendary accuracy of ADAM Audio's proprietary drivers, combined with the powerful amplifiers, make the S5V the reference monitor of choice for audio professionals working in the most expansive listening environments.
