Unique expressiveness, unparalleled quality. Premium quality ribbon microphone.
The Samar Audio Design VL37 ribbon microphone is a premium ribbon microphone designed for high-definition recording. It uses the same components and design as the flagship MF65 model, ensuring the same sound quality and characteristics.
Dr. Mark Hoeksman decided to custom-design and manufacture everything in-house, from the toroidal transformer and ribbon motor, boasting ultimate precision, to the machined stainless steel housing, and even down to the last screw, and spent over eight years developing it. The result is "another-class quality," with high frequencies extending to 25 kHz and completely flat low frequencies down to 20 Hz. While maintaining the natural, expansive sound characteristic of ribbon microphones, the result is a wide-ranging, well-balanced tone.
The precision construction, which integrates the ribbon motor into the housing, not only contributes to a sleek and beautiful design, but also to the perfect sound quality. The exquisite characteristics that allow every unit to be a matched pair are made possible by the in-house production of audio parts and housings at Samar Audio Design's laboratory, and the skilled craftsmanship of Dr. Fuchsman.
This is a high-end ribbon microphone with premium sound quality.
