Only the early Broadcaster and '54 Stratocaster had a different material for the pole piece (magnet), which is the biggest factor in the pickup's sound, than those from '55 onwards.
The pickups from '55 onwards were made of Alnico V, the same as those in the TALL-D.
It was bright and had that California sound, but the REAL '54 had a different sound character.
The wilder, thicker, and more unique sound will reinvigorate the creativity of players with even 54 years of experience playing the original.
Unfortunately, players who have never experienced the sound of this greatest pickup, both historically and musically, will be surprised to find that it meets today's sound needs.
This sound is thick, fat and powerful, and will give your amp a higher quality sound to talk back to you.
This magnet is only used on Fender '54 Old and Lindy guitars.
